Poetry expresses emotions, just as music or painting. One doesn't have
to be a poet to express his/her emotions. We do that everyday whether
knowingly or unknowingly. In this unit, we are going to write "I AM"
poems. They are biographical poems that express one's emotions. They
give insights to that person's world. An autobiographical poem doesn't
have to rhyme. You can express yourself freely without worrying about
whether your poem rhymes.
In this lesson, You will see some plans/portraits to write your
autobiographical poems. If you follow the steps, you willl be able to
write a poem that not only impresses you, but the one that reads it.
To make it easy for you I am including a list of describing words
(adjectives) that you can use to write your poems. You don't have to
use these words but I believe you will find them very useful if
you take a look at them. If you see a word that you don't understand,
please look it up in the dictionary. Keep in mind that your computer
has a dictionary that is built in.
